Yoga

The word Yoga means union.  And do we need Union in our lives!  Yoga is not a fad for proper yogic clothes, or to be a size 3 with flat abs, it is so much more than that.  I attended many different Yoga classes in the last 30 years or so.  It was never  classes that really got my attention.  I was like most people giving Yoga a try, somehow I always gave another class a chance.  Nothing really profound came to me until one day while I was massaging a patient at the doctor’s office,   He asked me if I had ever heard of Kundalini Yoga.  No, was my answer.  He started explaining some poses and breathing techniques, and I could see how much he liked that class.  As I showed interest in what he was telling me, he decided to invite me to his class which was that same night at the beach.  I was going to go even in my work clothes.  Wow!  What an experience!   I loved it.   I loved the people there, the music, the atmosphere.   I was in awe, it was the kind of Yoga that I resonated with.  It became such a wonderful discipline in my life.  Finally I had found where I belonged in the world of Yoga.  It was like coming home.  So much so that I decided to take the long course to become a teacher. It was a profound experience.  So my message to you is this, if you have tried Yoga classes that don’t say much to you, don’t give up. Give Yoga more tries until you find the one that feels really good to you.  It will fill your life like nothing else ever will.  There are many different types of Yoga and they are all good, same with teachers, you will find one that is just right for you, because their intention is pure.
