My first Aha moment back in 1986 while attending Massage Therapy school was a therapist who came to our class to speak about Craniosacral therapy (CST). I had no idea what that was, after all, I was just learning the wonders of Anatomy and Physiology. She spoke to us about a rhythm from the cranium to the sacrum that can get adjusted with CST, improving the functioning of the central nervous system using a very light touch the weight of a nickel, with our hands held in a specific way. How she talked about CST was what really got my attention. She loved her work, and was very passionate about it, that passion I saw in her was something different that was so convincing that I needed to learn more. But it was all so new to me then, I just could not feel that rhythm no matter how hard I tried, and I figured that was not for me. Well 30 years later, after learning numerous modalities and having people tell me that I had hands of an angel and being diagnosed with ALS, I went back to see a Craniosacral therapist, because I knew it would help me much better than that horrible medication they give to ALS patients. It is difficult to describe because everyone’s experience is unique. It seems to correct any imbalances in the craniosacral system. So check it out, like my friend Debbie tells me all the time,” just ask Mr. Google”. While you are at it check out The Upledger Institute in Palm Beach Gardens Fl, where Dr. John E. Upledger performed and taught so many this God given work. Do yourself a favor, and did you look up Banyan Botanicals yet? I did, and I ordered, there is a sale going on right now.. So many more good therapies coming up. You just have to live that way of life.
Canadian Angels and American Angels
July 12th 1962 was the date I entered this English speaking country. It took my parents a whole year to get those green cards. Lots of documentation, I remember the officer woman treating us like traitors for leaving Canada for the USA. She even pounded her fist on the desk, just like in a movie. Ah Mon Dieu! we only moved for my father’s health, he needed to be in the Sunshine state. We drove south to the border, it was exciting, a new country, a different language. As soon as we entered the USA, there were thousands and thousands and thousands of young guys wearing white t shirts, fatigue pants, big black boots and dog tags in caravans of army trucks going down to Florida. It was a time of great unrest in Cuba, so they all came south, while I flirted with everyone of those guys, it seemed we were flying in our 59 Chrysler. .I remember saying ” I’m going to love the USA!”. Here I was to learn about Angelic Touch. Merci les Etats Unis.
‘ It was here in Florida that I became LMT learned that massage was a most important modality of healing. Canada was the place of my birth and the USA was the place of my adulthood, and my learning all about Angelic Touch.

The power of Ayurvedic daily routine
I was so busy making ends meet, I worked at a beautiful Ayurvedic Wellbeing Center and did not apply what I was preaching. Does that sound like something that is happening to you? The stress of making a living took over all that I was truly about. I became like everybody else, running here and there, pleasing everyone but myself and forgetting about the Power of Ayurveda. If that is you,. STOP, right now and go fill your tank at your local Yoga place, breath, stretch and meditate. And do it for yourself alone, that is not selfish, it’s self loving. I did however learn some wonderful things in Ayurveda and I do miss it very much. I had to stop working when this diagnosis took over and I missed the Yoga classes, the great students that were my teachers always, the meditation room, the oils, the books, the food, the Therapists and all areas of the Center. Now I moved across the state and ordered products from a Company called Banyan Botanicals. They sent me what I am writing about, it’s their word not mine and truth is wanting to be heard. here is some of what I read. In Ayurveda the importance of a consistent daily routine cannot be underestimated. It sets the tone for your entire day. It gives the mind, body and spirit the chance to ground and cleanse. It’s a lifestyle adjustment that we all need. I could write so much more but you’ll just have to visit Banyan Botanical’s website and see for yourself. What I ordered was Nasya Oil, I don’t want to live without it. I am so glad I did. I’ll post the 4 essentials of daily routine in the next blog. Pay attention as this is for everyone’s highest good.
chronic pain and disability
Most people will say “It’s awful” and it is. But, it’s all in the way we look at it. For me, it’s ALS, my greatest challenge in life. But if looked at differently, it’s also my greatest teacher and my Mission here on earth, to let all people in pain try some of the things in my line of work. No kidding, I have learned more since this diagnosis then the last 30 years as a LMT. You see Massage Therapy is the ” Mother” of all Therapies and it’s not even recognized for what it is. Most people will actually still think of it as sexual ( dark ages thinking). That could not be further from the truth. It’s healing folks, it’s all in the Therapist’s heart, intentions, the love they put in their hands every day, and transferring that healing energy to our fellow beings. If you have chronic pain, if you are disabled, get a massage and include it in your weekly healing discipline. Just do it! Massage Therapists are like doctors, or Yoga teachers, if you don’t vibrate to one, don’t give up, try another one and another and another until you find the right one for you, there is a Therapist for you, I know for sure. One of the thing we LMT’s have in common is Unity, we are not in competition with one another, we will refer you to someone else that performs a modality that is not your particular area of expertise. To us, it’s more like cooperation to bring to you the best treatment you ever had. So if you are in pain, do your research in Holistic healthcare, you will be amazed at the degree of nurturing you can have.
Making your mind matter
Welcome to my Blog. I have never done this before, so please don’t judge, and just read on. I read that a blog is about sharing your knowledge to the world, and this is a topic that I am passionate about, in fact it has become my life Mission. A Mission Possible. So I must write about it, I have to, it’s my duty as a human being. So here we go. I was diagnosed with ALS, most people don’t know what it is. A Neurological condition that nobody seem to understand. You see it can affect anyone at any time. So I am writing this blog to bring AWARENESS of this most dreadful condition, affecting too many people world wide. And being that I was a Licensed Massage Therapist for nearly 30 years, loving my work and perfecting my work always through Holistic means, I feel the need to Walk my Talk and share with you my journey. The title of this first blog is something that struck my mind as I looked at my latest book called ” You are the Placebo” , making your mind matter by Dr. Joe Dispenza my newest Hero. My friend Maureen told me about him over a year ago, but I was not ready for his great knowledge, not until I heard his story. Then, I listened, very attentively and as this condition continues to progress he became more than an author, more than a doctor, he became almost an Angel, a Guide from heaven leading me through this dark night of the soul. This blog will be about the people I have met and the great friends that stood by me all along. The doctors, the diagnosis, the 2nd and 3rd opinions, the mis diagnosis, the horrible side effects of wrong medications, my frustrations, my anger, and my surrender to a Higher Power. So, make your mind matter, a good way to start is slow down, breathe consciously, and meditate. If you don’t know how to do it, get on You Tube, connect with Dr Dispenza or Dr Chopra, like Nike says so well, Just Do It!
